Overview
Couple Reminder is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not require an email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information to use the app. This privacy policy explains what data is collected, how it is stored, and your rights.
Anonymous Accounts
When you open Couple Reminder, an anonymous account is created automatically. This account is identified by a randomly generated ID — not by your name, email, or phone number. No sign-up process is required.
Data We Collect
- Reminder data: The reminders you create (titles, times, locations) are stored to provide the core functionality of the app.
- Shared space data: When you join a shared space, your anonymous ID is associated with that space so reminders can be synced between partners.
- Device identifiers: A random device token is used for push notifications. This cannot be traced back to you personally.
- Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Names or profile photos
- Contacts or address book
- Precise location history (location is only used for geofence triggers you set)
Data Storage
Reminder data is stored locally on your device and synced to a secure cloud database (Supabase) using row-level security (RLS). This ensures that only you and your partner (within a shared space) can access your reminder data. The database is hosted in a secure cloud region.

- Apple Push Notification Service / Firebase Cloud Messaging: Delivers push notifications to your device.
Location Data
Location-based reminders use geofencing, which means your device monitors when you enter or exit a specific area you have saved. Your precise location is not stored on our servers. Geofence monitoring is performed by the operating system on your device.
Data Retention
Your reminder data is retained as long as your anonymous account is active. If you delete a shared space or uninstall the app, your data will be removed from the cloud database after a grace period.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete individual reminders or entire shared spaces at any time. Uninstalling the app will trigger cloud data cleanup.
- No export of personal data: Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to export.
Children's Privacy
Couple Reminder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
